My friend Bex (Fawn Music) and I are planning a series of joint gigs in Derby, Wirksworth, and Sheffield over the next few months.
Fawn Music is from a sheep farm on the Scottish inner Hebridean island of Islay, now living in Derby and working as a Music Therapist. Growing up singing Gaelic, she now sings folk, classical and indie songs with a deeply emotional and Celtic twist. With an album coming out on October 18th you can now hear the title track, “Dear Music” on all streaming platforms.
My EP is due to be released in early September, and as soon as I’ve posted the pre-orders, I’ll make both the CD and digital version available online. In case you are coming from someplace, and you don’t know me, I come from the Northeast, and I am now residing in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. I’m known for deeply evocative folk music that blends traditional elements with contemporary storytelling. My music is known for intricate guitar work, creating a hauntingly beautiful soundscape. My lyrics often draw inspiration from nature, history, and personal experiences, creating songs that are both intimate and universal.
My debut EP, Silkie Child, I hope, showcases my ability to weave tales that resonate with listeners profoundly. This collection of songs is inspired by the folklore of the Selkie, a mythical creature from Scottish legend, reflecting my fascination with ancient stories and their relevance in modern times. In addition to my studio work, I have graced stages at various festivals and venues supporting Tom Robinson and Martin Stephenson – sharing my music with audiences who appreciate my artistry and authenticity. My live performances are known for their intimate atmosphere, allowing me to connect with listeners on a personal level.
