This weeks chinwag is Lauren Malhoit. I first met Lauren via the power of Skype. Occasionally, I get approached by folks on twitter asking for help and advice – and often that’s made easier by actually talking to the person rather than creating a shower of emails. As I recall our first chat was about SRM, and I was giving her some advice about upcoming VMUG presentation she had. So as you might guess, Lauren is pretty active in our vCommunity, and you will find that she regularly dials into (Big) John Troyer’s VTMN Podcast that is a live dial-in talkshow over on TalkShoe. Lauren doesn’t have a personal blog, but she does write pretty frequently over on TechRepublic. She’s also on twitter and you can follow here at @Malhoit.
In this weeks blog we continue the discussion about restructuring the infrustructure, and I ask Lauren what (if anything) the software-defined datacenter means to her. We also go a bit techy to talk about her recent presentation about distributed vSwitches and the new features to be found in vCenter5.1.
